One thing you will learn about Australians is that we like to shorten many things in the English language.
Some common examples include:
こんにちは！ティモシーです。ティムって呼んでください。
オーストラリア人についてひとつ言えることは、私達は多くの英単語を縮めて言うことが好きなんです。
一般的な例はこちらです。

Breakfast（ブレックファスト/朝食） = Brekky（ブレッキー）
Afternoon（ アフタヌーン/午後）= Arvo（アーヴォ）
Mcdonald’s（マクドナルド） = Maccas（マッカズ）

I heard that this was because there are many insects in Australia and we don’t want them to fly into our mouth so we had to change our speaking style. I’m not sure how true this is haha.
その理由はオーストラリアには昆虫が沢山いて、口の中に飛び込んできて欲しくないので話し方を変える必要があったからだと聞いています。
どこまで本当か確かではないですが(笑)。

I am from Melbourne, Australia.
Many people think that Australia is very sunny but in Melbourne it is usually a little bit colder.
For this reason we like to drink a lot of coffee and I think we make the best coffee in the world.
私はオーストラリアのメルボルン出身です。
多くの人はオーストラリアの天気がとてもいいと思っていますが、メルボルンはたいてい少し寒いです。
だから、私達はコーヒーをたくさん飲むことが好きで、メルボルンのコーヒーが世界で一番だと私は思っています。

When I was 12 years old, my father got a job in Saudi Arabia and my family and I lived there for 3 years.
Saudi Arabia is the opposite of Melbourne. It is extremely hot!
I remember I cooked an egg on the road one time.
When I lived in Saudi Arabia I went to an American International School and made friends from around the world.
I also got to travel around the world with my family during this time.
I have traveled most of Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
I would love to go to America and South America someday.
12歳の時、父がサウジアラビアで働くことになり、家族で3年間暮らしました。
サウジアラビアはメルボルンとは正反対でした。非常に暑いです！
一度は道路で卵を料理したのを覚えています。
サウジアラビアに住んでいた頃、私はアメリカンインターナショナルスクールに通っていて世界中の国から来た友達が出来ました。
さらにその頃は家族で世界各地を旅しました。アジア、ヨーロッパ、中東のほとんどの国を旅しました。
いつかアメリカや南米にもぜひ行ってみたいです。

For high school, I returned back to Melbourne and after graduating, I studied photography for three years.
I love photography and before I came to Tokyo I used to work as a wedding photographer.
It was a fun job but it was very stressful!
Apart from photography, my other hobbies include cooking, watching movies and soccer.
高校に通うため、メルボルンに帰ってきて、卒業後は3年間フォトグラフィーを学びました。
私は写真撮影が大好きで、東京に来る前は結婚式のフォトグラファーとして働いていました。
楽しい仕事でしたが、とても大変でした。
写真撮影以外の趣味は料理、映画鑑賞、サッカーがあります。

I love to cook Thai food since my parents are from Thailand.
My mom taught me a lot about cooking and how special it is to cook for people you love.
Luckily my mom gave me some special recipes so my cooking is OK!
I recommend eating Mango with sticky rice if you ever get the chance.
I would eat it everyday if I could.
両親はタイ出身なので、私はタイ料理を作ることが大好きです。
母は料理についてのことや、大切な人に料理を作ることがどんなに特別なことかたくさん教えてくれました。
幸運なことに、母は私に特別なレシピをくれたので、私の料理はなかなかです！
私のオススメはマンゴーを餅米と一緒に食べることです。機会があれば食べてみてください。
出来るなら私は毎日でも食べたいです。

I really like to watch movies because they give us the opportunity to experience other worlds and lives that would be impossible otherwise.
Since Christmas is coming up I recommend watching ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’.
It’s one of my family traditions to watch this movie every Christmas Day.
I promise you will feel happy after watching it!
他では経験出来ないような世界や人生を経験する機会を与えてくれる映画が大好きです。
クリスマスの時期には「素晴らしき哉、人生！」を観ることをお勧めします。
この映画を毎年クリスマスに見ることが私の家族の恒例の一つになっています。

My passion for soccer started when I moved to Saudi Arabia.
In Australia, soccer is not very popular compared to Cricket or Rugby so I didn’t have any interest in it.
However, in Saudi Arabia soccer is life and it is important to have a team to support.
By chance, I watched a video about the 1998 World Cup and it highlighted one of the best players of the tournament, Michael Owen.
I decided to support his club team which was Liverpool at the time.
I have supported Liverpool for the past 15 years and the club has given me many special memories.

サッカーへの熱い想いはサウジアラビアに引っ越してから始まりました。
オーストラリアでは、クリケットやラグビーに比べるとサッカーはそれほど人気はなく私は全く興味がありませんでした。
しかしサウジアラビアではサッカーは生活であり、応援するチームがある事が重要でした。
たまたま、1998年のワールドカップについてのビデオを観ているとその大会の最優秀選手の一人であるマイケル・オーウェンについての特集をしていました。
その時、彼が所属していたチームであるリバプールを応援することに決めました。
私はリバプールを15年間応援してきて、沢山特別な思い出があります。
