皆さんこんにちは！

My name is Nekane and I am a new lesson partner.
Since this is my first blog post, I’d like to tell you about myself and about how I ended up in Japan!
新しくレッスンパートナーになったNekane（ネカネ）です。
今回が初めてのブログだから、私自身のこと、そして日本に来ることになった経緯についてお話しさせてください！

It all started in June, 2000.
I was born in Bilbao, a city in the north of Spain.
Maybe you have heard of Basque Cheesecake? Bilbao is in the Basque Country!
My family and I lived in Spain for 10 years, and then my dad (who works for Bridgestone by the way – a Japanese company!) got a promotion, and we all moved to Brussels, Belgium.
すべては2000年6月に始まったの。
私はスペインの北にあるビルバオという町で生まれたの。
バスクチーズケーキをご存知かしら？ビルバオはバスク地方にあるのよ！
家族で10年スペインに住んでいたけど、その後、父 (日本企業のブリヂストンに勤めているの！) が昇進し、みんなでベルギーのブッリュッセルに引っ越したの。

Brussels, what a beautiful city.
Have you been? Or do you know anything about it?
If you do, then you must know about Belgian chocolate and waffles, and about the statue of Manneken Pis.
Fun fact that not many people know, Manneken Pis has a girlfriend and a dog!! They are difficult to find though, and don’t appear in guidebooks.
ブッリュッセルはとっても美しい街なの。
皆さんは行ったことあるかしら？それか何か知っているかしら？
ベルギーチョコレートとワッフル、そして小便小僧について知っているに違いないわ。
あまり知られていないけど、小便小僧には彼女と犬がいるのよ！！彼らは見つけるのが難しくて、ガイドブックにも載っていないの。

After high school, I moved to The Netherlands to study biochemistry at university.
It was difficult, but also the best time of my life.
After three years, I graduated with honors and convinced my parents that my dream was to come to Japan. But…COVID happened…
高校卒業後、大学で生物化学を学ぶためにオランダに転居したの。
とても難しかったけど、今までで最高に楽しい時間だったな。
三年後、私は優秀な成績で卒業出来て、夢だった日本に来ることを両親に説得したの。でも･･･コロナのことが起こったのよ。

I ended up living with my parents again for one year and working as an English teacher in Spain while the Japanese borders were closed.
I realized at that time that I really enjoy teaching languages.
I am happy to have found a job at an English school here in Japan!
結局、1年間はまた両親と暮らし、日本との国境が閉鎖されている間はスペインで英語教師として働いたの。
その経験を通して、私は語学を教えることが本当に好きなんだと気づいたの。
日本で英会話スクールの仕事が出来て幸せです！

Moreover, my hobbies include horse riding, embroidery, and reading.
I’ve been told that horse riding is not common here in Japan.
It’s a shame, because it is really fun, so if you ever have a chance, I encourage you to do it!!
In Spain, I work as a horse riding tour guide.
I teach clients how to ride the horses and take them on walks to the beach and forest.
そしてね、私の趣味は乗馬と刺繍、読書です。
日本では乗馬はあまり一般的ではないと聞いたわ。
すごく楽しいのにもったいないな。機会があったらぜひやってみてね！！
スペインでは乗馬のツアーガイドをしていたわ。
お客様に馬の乗り方を教えたり、海や山を散歩にお連れしたりするのよ。
