Growing up, summer was often the season my family would move.
The summer we moved to Italy, we had a little time before my brother and I began school, so we all took a trip to Alberobello and Ostuni.
They are both very cute cities, about 30-35 minutes apart by car.
幼い頃、夏といえば家族で引っ越しをする季節だったの。
イタリアに引っ越した夏、私達兄弟が学校に通い始めるまで少し時間があったので、家族でAlberobello（アルベロベッロ）とOstuni（オストゥーニ）に旅行しました。
どちらもとてもかわいい街で、車で30～35分ほどの距離でした。

While in the area, we stayed in a trull*bed & breakfast.
Trulli*are round, stone buildings with cone-shaped roofs; essentially, they’re stone huts, unique to Puglia (the southern region of Italy that looks like the boot’s heel).
Because of the way they’re built, trulli are meant to keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
The trullo we stayed in was quite cozy, and very relaxing!
Our dogs loved the open space and being able to cool down inside!
この地方では、トゥルッロのベッド＆ブレックファスト（朝食付き民宿）に泊まりました。
トゥルッリとは、トンガリ屋根を持つ丸い石造りの建物のことで、Puglia（プーリア州）（ブーツのかかとのような形をしたイタリア南部の地域）特有の石造りの小屋です。
トゥルッリは冬は暖かく、夏は涼しい造りになっているわ。
私達が宿泊したトゥルッリはとても居心地がよく、とてもリラックスできました！
ウチの犬達はオープンスペースや室内で涼しく過ごすことが出来て大喜びでした！
*トゥルッリ（trulli）はトゥルッロ（trullo）単数形の複数形。つまり、トンガリ屋根の家がひとつなら、トゥルッロで、ふたつ以上ならトゥルッリ。

In Alberobello, there were hills covered in trulli stores.
They were adorable, and almost all of them sold handmade items, such as crafts, pastas, and so on.
I got a small snow globe of the city that currently lives in my parents’ house.
アルベロベッロには、トゥルッリの店が立ち並ぶ丘がありました。
とてもかわいくて、ほとんどが工芸品やパスタなどの手作りの物を売っていました。
私はその街の小さなスノードームを買ったんだけど今でも実家に置いてあるわ。

It’s important to note that there is more to see than just trulli in Alberobello.
For example, when we walked around the city, we discovered cathedrals, like the one below.
There is also a well-reviewed zoosafari that children and adults can all enjoy.
アルベロベッロの街はトゥルッリ以外にも見どころが色々あるの。
街をぶらぶらしていた時に、下の写真のような大聖堂を見つけたわ。
子どから大人までみんなで楽しめる、人気のサファリパークもあるのよ。

In Ostuni, we spent day and night traveling around the “White City”.
It got this name, because of its old town that is painted white.
It is a charming place, but you need to be careful! In Ostuni, it is easy to lose your sense of direction and get lost.
Many people regard it as a maze, because it has so many alleyways, narrow staircases, and random doors.
If you are okay with getting a little lost, great! You may be able to discover amazing places to eat at or even just sightseeing.
オストゥーニでは、一日中「白い街」を見て回りました。
旧市街が白く塗られていることからこの名が付けられました。
とても魅力的な場所ですが、オストゥーニでは方向感覚を失い、道に迷ってしまうので気をつけてくださいね！
たくさんの路地、狭い階段、ランダムなドアがあり、迷路のようだといわれています。
でもちょっとくらい道に迷ったって大丈夫！素敵なごはん屋さんや観光スポットを発見出来るかも知れないわ。

A famous dish from this city is panzerotti.
Panzerotti is a fried dough, filled with tomato sauce and mozzarella.
It’s very good; however, my favorite Italian fried dough is zonzelle, AKA coccoli or ficattole.
この街の名物料理はパンツェロッティです。
パンツェロッティはトマトソースとモッツァレラチーズを詰めた揚げパンです。
それもすごく美味しいんだけど、私はゾンゼル（別名：コッコリまたはフィッカトーレ）が気に入ったわ。
