Strange Laws　（アメリカの面白い法律） -- it is illegal to make a U-turn in the state of Indiana!? by Aaron

I was talking to my friend from the US and he had told me that he just moved
to Indiana. He changed his address and driver's license to an Indiana
license.

アメリカ人の友達と話していた時に、彼が最近インディアナ州に引っ越したって話をしてくれたんだ。住所も変わって運転免許証もインディアナ州のものに変更したんだって。

Then he was told that it is illegal to make a U-turn in the state of
Indiana. I thought that this was a strange law.
Sometimes when you travel to different states, you learn about strange
laws. For those that don't know, all 50 states have different laws.
Within each state, various cities have different laws.
Most of the laws are the same or slightly different, but once in a while you hear some ridiculous laws. So I started researching some of them.

その時に「インディアナ州ではUターンすることは違法」って言われたらしいんだ。それはおかしな法律だなと思ったよ。
時々違う州に行くと、おかしな法律を知ることがあるんだ。知らない人のために説明しておくと、50の州には、それぞれに異なる法律があるんだよ。州のなかでも、市ごとにさらに法律があるんだ。ほとんどがほぼ同じか、若干違ったりするんだけど、簡単にばかげた法律を見つけることができるよ。だからちょっと調べてみたんだ。

Yes, sadly these are real laws. Why these are laws? Somebody probably did these things and caused problems in the past. I also did some
research on other Countries if they had strange laws.

そう、悲しいことにこれはみんな実在する法律なんだよ。どうしてかって？
きっと誰かが過去にこれらのことをして、問題を起こしたからだろうね。
さらにおかしな法律があるのかどうか、他の国も調べてみたよ。
