A Day Out in Izumi no Mori by Alison

In Kanagawa, there’s a beautiful forest park near Chuorinkan. A student told me that you can meet two fat stray calico cats here. Of course, I had to go and find them!
神奈川の中央林間の近くに、美しい森林公園があるの。
ある生徒さんが、「そこにはぽっちゃりした三毛猫の野良ちゃんが2匹いる」って教えてくれたの。
もちろん、会いに行かずにはいられなかったわ！

First, I entered through the Komorebi Hiroba entrance. There’s a big clearing with wooden lounge chairs where you can lie down and look up at the sunlight shining through the trees. It’s very peaceful.
まずは『こもれび広場』の入口から入ったの。
そこは、木製のデッキチェアが並ぶ広々とした広場で、寝転んで木々の間からこぼれる陽ざしを見上げることができるのよ。とても静かで、心が落ち着く場所よ。

Next, I walked to Seseragi Square and ate my lunch. If you have adventurous kids, they can play on the climbing ropes. It’s also a great place to sit and relax in the shade. After, you can visit the Yatsuhashi Deck, and enjoy the clear air.
次に「せせらぎ広場」まで歩いて、ランチを食べたの。元気いっぱいの子どもたちなら、クライミングロープで遊ぶのも楽しそう。木陰でゆっくりくつろぐのにもぴったりの場所よ。そのあとは『八ッ橋デッキ』に立ち寄って、澄んだ空気を満喫するのもおすすめよ。

After lunch, I visited the Yamato Garden. There are old-style Japanese houses where you can learn a little about history. Right now, there are Hina Festival dolls on display. I was excited to see the rapeseed flowers, plum blossoms, and cherry blossoms too!
ランチの後は、『大和市郷土民家園』を訪れたの。そこには昔ながらの日本家屋があって、ちょっとした歴史を学ぶことができるのよ。ちょうど今はお雛様が飾られているの。それに、菜の花や梅の花、そして桜まで咲いていて、ワクワクしちゃった！

I had a lovely time walking in the forest, but sadly, I didn’t find the two cute cats. Maybe next time!
