Valentine’s Night & Thoughts of Tsagaan Sar by Asa | b わたしの英会話

On Valentine’s Day, I visited Rikkyo University’s Ikebukuro campus at night with a friend.
The campus looked beautiful with soft streetlights.
The Main Building, made of red bricks, looked peaceful in the quiet night.
バレンタインデーの夜に、友達と立教大学の池袋キャンパスに行ったの。
キャンパスは優しく灯る街灯に照らされていて、とても美しかったわ。
赤レンガ造りの本館は、厳かで落ち着いた雰囲気を漂わせていました。

The atmosphere was calm, and even though the big city of Tokyo was nearby, the campus felt like a quiet place.
There weren’t many students, so my friend and I had a nice, peaceful talk about life in Japan.
There’s a lot of greenery on Rikkyo University’s campus.
都会の真ん中にあるのに、キャンパスの中はとても静かで落ち着いた雰囲気だった。
学生の姿も少なく、友達と日本での暮らしについてゆっくり語り合うことができたわ。
立教大学のキャンパスには緑もたくさんあって、とても素敵な場所でした。

While walking around the campus, I thought about Mongolia.
Tsagaan Sar, which directly translates to “White Moon,” the Mongolian Lunar New Year, is coming soon on March 1, 2025.
I felt a little disappointed because I can’t visit Mongolia for White Moon (Lunar New Year) this year.
I really want to go back home and celebrate.
I hope I can visit Mongolia in the summer.
キャンパスを歩きながら、モンゴルのことを思い浮かべました。
ツァガンサル（Tsagaan Sar）は直訳すると「白い月」という意味で、モンゴルの旧正月にあたります。2025年3月1日なので、もうすぐなのよ。
今年はツァガンサル（旧正月）にモンゴルへ帰れないので、残念だわ。
本当は帰国してお祝いしたいけれど…。
夏には帰れたらいいな。
