☆Becky Jenkinson（ベッキー・イギリス出身）
①What brought you to Japan？
Many reasons! First of all, my older brother moved here a few years before I did, so when I visited him, I fell in love with Tokyo! There’s so much interesting
art and history, and everyone we met was so kind. I love experiences that push me out of my comfort zone (I was bored living in England!) and I get to challenge myself here.
いくつかの理由があります！まず第一に、私の兄が数年前にここに引っ越したんですよ。それで、彼を訪ねたときに東京に魅了されました！興味深い芸術や歴史がたくさんあり、出会った人々もとても親切でした。私は自分の快適圏から押し出すような経験が大好きなんです（イギリスでは退屈だったんです！）、ここで自分自身に挑戦できるんですよ。
②What is the most special festival or event in your country?
The biggest event of the year is Christmas (you see decorations from as early as October!), but I think the most unique holiday in the UK is Bonfire
Night, held on the 5th of November. People light a huge bonfire and set off fireworks, usually at a local park, and eat a chewy sweet called treacle toffee. The holiday started after a failed attack on the Houses of Parliament (the government building in London)
in the 1600’s called the Gunpowder Plot, so it has a strange origin!
一年で一番のイベントはクリスマスです（10月から飾り付けが見られます！）、でもイギリスで最もユニークな休日は11月5日の火祭りです。人々が巨大なたき火を焚き、花火を打ち上げ、普通は地元の公園で、トリークルトフィーという噛みごたえのあるお菓子を食べます。この休日は1600年代のイギリス議会（ロンドンの政府庁舎）への失敗した襲撃、火薬陰謀事件の後に始まったので、由来が奇妙ですよね！
③What is your favorite city in Japan, and why？
Aside from Tokyo, my favourite city in Japan is Nara! I love going to Nara Park and feeding the deer. I have some goshuin from shrines & temples around Nara, and it’s so nice to be surrounded by nature. I always take my friends & family when they visit Japan. I’d like to travel and discover more places in Japan soon, please let me know your recommendations!
東京以外で、私のお気に入りの街は奈良です！奈良公園に行って鹿に餌をやるのが大好きです。奈良の神社や寺院からいくつかの御朱印を集めていますが、自然に囲まれているのがとても素敵です。友達や家族が日本を訪れたときはいつも連れて行きます。近々もっと日本の場所を旅行して発見したいので、おすすめがあれば教えてくださいね！
④Do you know about Studio Ghibli anime? If so, could you please tell me your favorite film, character, and why?
My favourite Ghibli movie is The Tale of Princess Kaguya, directed by Takahata Isao. I love the watercolour animation
style! It’s so beautiful. I also like Arrietty and Ponyo. The cute, fantasy stories are my favourite. Some of their movies are too sad for me!
私の好きなジブリ映画は高畑勲監督の「かぐや姫の物語」です。水彩画のアニメーションスタイルが大好きです！とても美しいです。それから「借りぐらしのアリエッティ」と「崖の上のポニョ」も好きです。可愛らしいファンタジー物語が一番です。ジブリ映画の中には私にとってあまりにも悲しいものもあります！

☆Henna Joshi（ヘナ・インド出身）
①What brought you to Japan？
I was interested in learning more about Japanese culture and language.
日本の文化や言語に興味がありました。
②What is the most special festival or event in your country?
I’m not sure what the most special event is. India is very diverse and the festivals people celebrate sometimes depend on their religion or the state they’re from.
一番特別なイベントはよくわかりません。インドはとても多様で、人々が祝う祭りは宗教や出身地によって異なります。
③What is your favorite city in Japan, and why？
My favorite city in Japan is Tokyo! It’s the city I’ve spent the most time in and there’s always something to do here.
私のお気に入りの街は東京です！ここで過ごした時間が一番長く、いつもすることがあります。
④Do you know about Studio Ghibli anime? If so, could you please tell me your favorite film, character, and why?
My favorite Studio Ghibli film is “My Neighbor Totoro”. Totoro is my favorite character because he’s so cute.
私のお気に入りのスタジオジブリ映画は「となりのトトロ」です。トトロがとてもかわいいからです。

☆Asa Gankhuu （エイサ・モンゴル出身）
①What brought you to Japan？
I came to Japan because I wanted to experience different culture and a different country life experience. Out all the countries I was interested in Japan was the closest to Mongolia. So, I chose Japan.
異なる文化と異なる国の生活体験をしたかったからです。興味を持った国の中で日本がモンゴルに最も近いので、日本を選びました。
②What is the most special festival or event in your country?
In Mongolia NAADAM is probably the most special event. There’s horse racing and a bunch of traditional Mongolian dancing and wrestling events. Plus many Mongolians go on a vacation to Mongolian countryside for fresh air and making barbecue with family. Some even stay a few nights in a GER or a tent in nature like a camping trip. This holiday starts in July and lasts for about 2 weeks.
モンゴルではナーダムがおそらく最も特別なイベントです。馬のレースや伝統的なモンゴルのダンスやレスリングのイベントがたくさんあります。そして多くのモンゴル人は、新鮮な空気を楽しみ、家族とバーベキューをしたり、自然の中のゲル（テント）でキャンプするようなバケーションに出かけます。その休日は7月に始まり、約2週間続きます。
③What is your favorite city in Japan, and why？
I have only been in Tokyo so I can’t really answer this one yet. But I really like Tokyo for how convenient it is. I’m very interested in Kobe and want to visit someday.
私は東京にしか行ったことがないので、まだ答えることができません。でも東京はとても便利なのでとても気に入っています。
④Do you know about Studio Ghibli anime? If so, could you please tell me your favorite film, character, and why?
I love Howl’s moving castle. The soundtrack and the animation for this movie is amazing and a classic. I don’t really have a specific favorite character from Studio Ghibli movies but the most relatable character for me was Sophie from Howl’s moving castle. She’s very shy and doesn’t know how to express herself in the beginning of the movie. I related a lot.
「ハウルの動く城」が大好きです。この映画のサウンドトラックとアニメーションは素晴らしく、名作です。スタジオジブリの映画で特定のお気に入りのキャラクターがいるわけではありませんが、私にとって最も共感できるキャラクターは「ハウルの動く城」のソフィーです。彼女は映画の最初はとてもシャイで、自分を表現する方法がわかりません。私も同じように感じました。

☆Eric Shaffron（エリック・アメリカ出身）
①What brought you to JAPAN？
My mother is half-Japanese. I never got to meet my grandmother and I wanted to spend some of my life in the country she was born and raised in.
私の母親は日本人の血を引いています。私は祖母に会ったことがなく、彼女が生まれ育った国で一部の人生を過ごしたかったのです。
②What is the most special festival or event in your country?
Probably Christmas in America.
おそらくアメリカではクリスマスでしょう。
③What is your favorite city in Japan, and why？
I feel like I need to visit more cities before deciding but for now I really like Yokohama.
It’s not as crowded as Tokyo, but still has lots to do.
まだいくつかの都市を訪れる必要があると感じていますが、今のところ私は横浜がとても好きです。東京ほど混雑していないけれど、やることはたくさんあります。
④Do you know about Studio Ghibli anime? If so, could you please tell me your favorite film, character, and why?
I know Studio Ghibli.
I have only seen a few, but I think Princess Mononoke was my favorite.
It’s been a long time since I have seen it, but I enjoyed the setting, theme, and message about environmentalism.
スタジオジブリについては知っています。数作しか見ていませんが、「もののけ姫」がお気に入りです。かなり久しぶりに見ましたが、その設定やテーマ、環境保護に関するメッセージが楽しめました。

☆Lara Erkens（ララ・ドイツ出身）
①What brought you to JAPAN？
A love and appreciation for Japanese culture, such as language, food and media (drama, anime). Additionally, I am fascinated by Japanese nature and love going on hikes.
日本の文化、言語、食べ物、メディア（ドラマ、アニメ）に対する愛と感謝からです。加えて、日本の自然に魅了され、ハイキングが大好きです。
②What is the most special festival or event in your country?
In Germany, the most special festival is the “Oktoberfest”, a two-week festival in Munich, which celebrates German traditional food, drinks and music.
ドイツでは、「オクトーバーフェスト」が最も特別なイベントです。ミュンヘンで2週間にわたって開催され、ドイツの伝統的な食べ物、飲み物、音楽を祝います。
③What is your favorite city in Japan, and why？
My favourite city in Japan is Tokyo because, while it it a huge city with many many people, it can feel small or big (depending on where you go). There is always somewhere new to explore and I love the ability to try new cafes every week.
私のお気に入りの日本の街は東京です。大きな都市でありながら、どこに行っても小さな街のように感じることができます。新しい場所を探索する楽しみが常にあり、毎週新しいカフェを試すことができるのが好きです。
④Do you know about Studio Ghibli anime? If so, could you please tell me your favorite film, character, and why?
I love Howl’s moving castle! My favourite character would be Sophie because she is strong and resilient through her adventures and is able to save her lover and friends in the end. She represents a strong female character and I admire that strength.
「ハウルの動く城」が大好きです！私のお気に入りのキャラクターはソフィーです。彼女は冒険の中で強く、しぶとく、最後には恋人や友人を救うことができます。彼女は強い女性キャラクターを象徴し、その強さに感心します。
