日本とオーストラリアのお祭りについてちょっとしたブログを書きますね。

After I finished work in Jiyugaoka recently, I was lucky to walk into the middle of a mikoshi festival for the first time!
I have heard many times about mikoshi – or ‘portable shrine’ in English – but I have never had the chance to see the festival in person. This got me thinking about the big difference in festivals and celebrations between Japan and Australia.
最近自由が丘スクールでの仕事帰りに、歩いていたら運良く初めてお祭りのおみこしを観ました。
おみこしについては何度も話を聞いたことはあったけど（もしくは英語でおみこし＝portable shrine）だけど今までチャンスが無く生のおみこしを観たことがありませんでした。
それをきっかけに、日本とオーストラリアのお祭りやお祝いごとについて考えました。

In Australia, festivals are not as common or as important as in Japan.
The festivals that take place in Australia are usually food festivals,
while many festivals in Japan come from old traditions that are hundreds of years old! While Australia is too young of a country to have as long a history as Japan,
オーストラリアのお祭りは日本ほどたくさんないし、大切にされていません。
オーストラリアのお祭りはたいてい食べ物のお祭りです。
日本の沢山のお祭りは何百年も古い伝統がありますが、オーストラリアは日本より若い国で日本ほど歴史がありません。

Australians love to party and we enjoy things such as live music and performances at our festivals – just like the Japanese.
My favourite Australian festival is the New South Wales Food and Wine Festival that is held once a year at a park in the middle of Sydney.
At this festival, you can taste many different kinds of food and wine from all over Australia and the world while enjoying jazz music.
オーストラリア人はパーティーが大好きで、日本人みたいに祭りの音楽の生演奏が好きです。
僕の好きなオーストラリアのお祭りは、シドニーの中心にある公園のお祭りで年に一度開催される『ニューサウスウォルズフード＆ワインフェスティバル』です。
このお祭りは、オーストラリアと世界中の色んな種類の食べ物やワインがジャズミュージックを聞きながら楽しめます。

In Japan, the best festival that I have experienced so far has to be the hanabi takai – or ‘fireworks festival’ in English.
It’s a lot of fun to wear yukata, eat yakisoba and drink beer while watching beautiful fireworks during the summer!
僕が今まで楽しんだ日本のお祭りの中で一番好きなお祭りは花火大会です。
夏の間に浴衣を着て美しい花火を見ながら、焼きそばを食べてビールを飲むのが楽しいです！
