I had a wonderful holiday in New York this December.
皆さんは冬休みを楽しめましたか？
私は12月にニューヨークで素晴らしい休日を過ごしました。

Of course as everyone already knows, NY is a very wonderful place.
It is very hard to get bored in New York because it is so full of surprises and events, even during the winter.
So I will highlight 3 of my favorite things to do while I was in New York.
First, I ran the whole of 3/4 of Central Park, which was about 15km long.
This is my second time to run around Central Park and it was very nostalgic.
I recommend running near the lake in the upper middle of the Park, it was so serene and peaceful. I guarantee you will feel refreshed. But please don’t do it in December, like I did, that was just too chilly! A run in the autumn would have been perfect. 🙂
もちろん皆さんも知っているように、ニューヨークはとても素晴らしい場所です。
それがたとえ冬の間でも、たくさんの驚きとイベントがあることによって、絶対に退屈しません。
私の「ニューヨークですることお気に入りトップ3」を紹介します。
まず、私はセントラルパークの3/4、約15kmを走りました。
セントラルパークの周りを走るのは今回で2度目で、とても懐かしかったです。
私のおすすめはセントラルパークの真ん中より上にある湖の近くを走ることで、とってものどかで平和でした。リフレッシュできることを保証しますよ。でも、それはそれはとても寒かったので、私がやったように12月に走ることはおすすめしません。秋に走ったらきっとパーフェクトですね:)

Second highlight was my trip to the museum.
One of my favorite museums in New York is Cooper Hewitt Design Museum.
It is interesting because it is housed in an old historical building, but the museum collection includes both classic traditional and modern design placed side by side. So I love the bold but interesting contrast between the different pieces. As a plus, they also have a motto: “Taking pictures is highly encouraged.” So we can take as many photos as we want, which is not common at museums generally. Also, there were many exhibition that let the viewers interact with the exhibition pieces. So we were all invited to get creative and produce something on our own.
2つめは、ミュージアムに行ったことです。
ニューヨークの中でお気に入りの一つ、クーパー・ヒューイット国立デザイン博物館です。
このミュージアムの面白いところは、歴史的な古い建物のなかにあるのに、展示物は歴史的でクラシックなものと、近代的でモダンなものが隣合せに並べられているのです。私はそれぞれの違った展示物がもつ、大胆で且つ興味深いコントラストが大好きになりました。
さらに、彼らにはモットーがあります。「写真撮影大歓迎」です。なので、私たちは写真を撮りたいだけ撮ることができます。通常のミュージアムの展示場では考えられないことですね。また展示会も開かれており、見物者達が展示物とふれあうことができるようになっています。私たち自らが創造力を働かせ、何かを作り出す機会を与えてくれるのです。

The third highlight of my trip is going to watch Broadway.
The show that I watched was called Kinky Boots. It has received numerous Tony Awards and was the new up and coming show. It was such a blast. The story was about a shoe factory owner who was trying to save his business from bankruptcy. He needed to create a new brand for the shop and decided to design heels for Drag Queens, who are men dressing up as women in shows.
He felt that there were no heels and boots that were designed to withstand the weight of a man.
3つめは、ブロードウェイを観に行くことです。私が観たのは「キンキーブーツ」というショーでした。このショーは多数のトニー賞を受賞し、世に出たばかりの新しいショーでした。それはそれは衝撃的でした。このストーリーは、靴工場のオーナーが自分のビジネスを守って倒産を免れようとするお話です。彼は店に置く新しいブランドを作り出す必要があり、ドラッグクィーン、つまりショーで女装する男性のためのヒールをデザインすることに決めました。
彼は、男性の体重に耐えられるようにデザインされたヒールやブーツは、この世にまだ存在しない、と感じたのです。

So you can see how interesting the storyline is. I definitely recommend this show, as I couldn’t stop laughing during the show. It was definitely colorful and entertaining.
