Summer is fading – the days are less humid, the nights much more
refreshing.

夏も終わりが近づいてきたね。日ごとに涼しくなってきて、
夜はもっと過ごしやすくなってきたね。

 

 

It is an interesting time to be in the countryside. The brightly
coloured rice seedlings that were planted only a few months ago, have
matured and turned a wonderful golden brownin colour.

田舎は、今面白い時期なんだ。たった2、3ヵ月前に植えられた、
明るい色の稲苗は、熟して素晴らしい金褐色に変わったんだ。

 

 

With the change in colour, the farmers are now beginning to harvest this
year`s crop as they have done for generations before. Albeit with
slightly better technology …. I would
really like to drive one of those tiny harvesters
