This is my first Blog entry, so please allow me to introduce myself.
これが僕の初めてのブログになりますので、自己紹介したいと思います。
My name is Darrell. I am from the United States,
but I have lived in Japan since 2001.
僕はダレル。アメリカ出身で
日本には、2001年に来ました。
It’s very exciting to live in a foreign country
because every day is a learning experience and a chance to grow.
海外生活って、ともて興奮するんだ！
日々のことから自分が成長できるからね！
I’m also very excited about teaching English
because many of you will be able to use English to experience
living in a foreign country as well.
僕は英語を教えるのも好きだよ。
みんなが海外で生活するときに英語を使えるようになるでしょ！
Before I moved to Japan, I had also lived in Spain and Italy.
Currently, I live in Ueno with my cat.
日本に来る前はスペインとイタリアに住んでいました。
今は上野でかわいいマニャナカ（猫）と一緒に住んでいるんだ。

I am very artistic and I spend a lot of time painting or making movies.
僕はアートが好きで、たいていの時間は絵を描いたり、ムービーを作っています。
I also do volunteer work with children.
The volunteer work usually involves visiting schools
to play English games or taking children camping in the summer.
あと、子どもたちとボランティア活動もしています。
何をするかというと、学校へ行って英語のゲームをしたり、
夏には、子どもたちとキャンプをしたりしています。
If you are reading this blog, I guess you are also enthusiastic
about communicating and understanding cultural differences.
