これは9月のイディオムブログになります。今月のトピックは動物に関するイディオムです。
来月は今回の続きをしたいと思います。
*ahead of the pack- means to be more successful than other people who are
doing the same thing as you.( it should be noted that animals like wolves
live in packs.)
ex)The salesman worked very hard to get ahead of the pack.
*ahead of the pack：何人もが同じことをしているのに、あなたが先頭に立つ
（注目すべきことは、動物は狼の様に群れをなして生活するということ。）
ex)セールスマンは先頭に立つ（リードする）ために、一生懸命に働く。
*as busy as a beaver- means very busy
ex)Rie has been as busy as a beaver to finish her project on time.
*as busy as a beaver：大忙しで
ex)リエは期限内にプロジェクトを終えるのにずっと大忙しだ。
*as sick as a dog- very sick
ex)Last night`s curry made me as sick as a dog.
*as sick as a dog：ひどく気分が悪い
ex)昨夜のカレーで、ひどく気分が悪くなった。
*a cat nap- a short sleep taken during the day
ex)I usually take a cat nap after lunch.
*a cat nap：昼寝
ex)私はランチの後、たいてい昼寝をします。
*have bats in one`s belfry- to be a little crazy
ex)I think that man has bats in the belfry
*have bats in one`s belfry：ひどく変わっている
ex)あの人はかなり変わっていると思う。
*hoof it- means to walk or run( a hoof is the foot of a horse)
ex)Our cab was stuck in a traffic,so we decided to hoof it .
*hoof it:歩く、もしくは踊る（hoofとは馬の脚という意味）
ex)私たちのタクシーが渋滞にはまり、あきらめて歩いて行くことにした。
*a leopard can`t change it`s spots- you cannot change someone or their bad habits
ex)Although, Bill says he`s changed, a leopard can`t change its spots.
*a leopard can`t change it`s spots：いったん定着すると変えることは難しい
ex)ビルは自分が変わったとは言うけれど、そう簡単には変わらない。
